Meet Pieter Neven, perfusionist at ZOL
We are happy to introduce you to our new colleague Pieter Neven.
Since 2016, he has worked as a nurse at Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg. In 2018, he obtained his bachelor's degree in emergency and intensive care. Until recently, he worked in the intensive care unit, where he gained valuable experience. However, his long-standing fascination with extracorporeal systems and assist devices led him to take the next step in his career. In November 2024 he started training as a perfusionist and is now pursuing a postgraduate degree in extracorporeal techniques.
In addition to his hospital work, he is also active as an ambulance nurse with the fire department in Maasmechelen. Working in acute care—both in-hospital and pre-hospital—gives him a great sense of fulfillment. He values the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for patients in critical situations.
Pieter looks forward to growing as a perfusionist and further developing his expertise in the field.
