We therefore treat your personal data with great care and we try to ensure its security to our best ability. This website is owned by BelSECT vzw/asbl. By accessing and using the website, you expressly agree to the applicable terms and conditions, as set out below.

Intellectual property rights

The contents of this website, including brands, logos, drawings, data, product or company names, texts, images, etc. are protected by intellectual rights and belong to BelSECT or entitled third parties.

In case of disputes on the content or the intellectual property rights of the content on the website, you can also send a question or complaint in writing via the contact form. We will treat such comments with the highest priority and care.

The information on this website is for informational purposes only. We make every effort to ensure the correctness of this information, but cannot be held liable for damage caused by incorrect or incomplete information. In addition, we reserve the right to make changes / corrections or to remove information at any time.

Privacy

In accordance with privacy legislation (Law on the processing of personal data of 08/12/1992), BelSECT commits to not store personal information for commercial purposes. We intend to comply with the privacy laws that apply to us. We are also working to bring the processing of personal data into line with the European General Data Protection Regulation.

What personal data do we collect?

BelSECT receives - or has received in the past - your personal data when you register as a member of BelSECT. A personal data is any information that directly or indirectly identifies a living person. Some examples are a name, an e-mail address and a photograph.
As part of the registration of our members, we collect the following data:

  • Personal data: surname and first name, home address (street, house number, postcode, municipality, country), photo, account number
  • Contact details: e-mail address and telephone number (work, private)
  • Professional-related information: position, type, name and address of the organisation/institution where the member works

What do we use your personal data for?

BelSECT collects and processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Keeping a membership administration by BelSECT and an administration for EBCP as well as for the need of realising the statutory objectives of BelSECT
  • Collecting invoices as well as paying fees by BelSECT.
  • Organising educational evenings, symposia and other education and training projects that are useful for practising the profession of perfusionist; more specifically for enrolling, registering attendance and providing certificates of these courses.
  • Providing all useful information of interest to our members via our website, e-mail or any other possible communication channels. In these cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address) is never transferred to the third party.

On what grounds are these data processed?

BelSECT ensures that your personal data is only processed on legitimate grounds. Several of the following processing bases may apply:

  • BelSECT's processing of your personal data is necessary in the context of your membership of BelSECT. As a member and affiliate, you have statutory rights and obligations and for the execution and safeguarding thereof, it is necessary for BelSECT to process your personal data. As such, the processing basis concerns the necessity to execute an agreement you entered into with BelSECT as a member and affiliate.
  • BelSECT also processes your data for the purpose of legitimate interests of BelSECT. These legitimate interests should in any case include the processing of personal data necessary to realise the statutory objectives of BelSECT.

How long do we store your personal data?

Your data will be stored at least during your membership of BelSECT. After the termination of your membership, they will not be stored for longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were provided or as long as BelSECT is required to do so by law.

Security of personal data

BelSECT has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your personal data against loss or any other form of unlawful processing, in line with applicable legal requirements and guidelines.
BelSECT will store all personal data it has collected in secure cloud services or on its secure website.
Notwithstanding BelSECT's security policy, the controls it implements and the actions it takes in this regard, an infallible level of security cannot be guaranteed. No method of transmission or transfer over the internet nor any method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so BelSECT cannot guarantee absolute security in this context.

In addition, the security of your account will also partly depend on the confidentiality of your password and other account information. BelSECT will never ask for your password. If you have nevertheless disclosed your password to a third party, this third party can use your password to access your account and your personal data. In that case, you yourself are liable for the actions taken through the use of your account. BelSECT therefore strongly recommends that you change your password immediately if you determine that someone has access to your account, and contact info@belsect.be immediately. 

Your privacy rights

You have the right to request BelSECT:

  • To access your personal data;
  • To a rectification, completion or update of your personal data;
  • To deletion of your personal data (‘right to be forgotten’);
  • To a restriction of the processing of your personal data;
  • To transferability of your personal data;
  • To object/resist the processing of your personal data.

If and to the extent that BelSECT processes your personal data on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. However, the processing of your personal data is necessary for you to be a member of BelSECT.
You also have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, competent for the Belgian territory, at any time. Finally, you can also lodge a complaint with the court of first instance of your place of residence.

Changes to our privacy policy

Increasingly more is possible with data and regulations change regularly. Our privacy policy is therefore never completely finished. We keep our policy up to date. We may therefore also change this privacy statement at any time and with or without notice. We therefore recommend that you check this privacy statement again from time to time so that you are aware of any changes.

You can fill in a contact form on our website. We process privacy-sensitive information, also known as personal data. Any personal data provided, such as name and e-mail address, will only be used by us in the context of a good service and with regard to services in which you showed interest or services and products that closely match this.

Furthermore, we will not spread the information you provide to third parties, unless, according to the police, there is an acute threat or this is enforced by the court.

Subject to proof of identity (copy of identity card), you can submit a written, dated and signed request to delete or amend this information. We undertake to comply with this within the legal term.
